2017 Canadian Trapshooting Championships

The 2017 Canadian Trapshooting Championships were held June 28 – July 2, 2017 at the Edmonton Gun Club in Edmonton, Alberta. This year’s shoot was the largest Canadian Championships held in western Canada in recent years and saw shooters from coast to coast compete in Canada’s national trapshooting championships. The host club with its beautiful twelve trap facility put off a fantastic shoot and treated shooters to great targets and a well run competition.
Atlantic Provinces (AP) shooters from NL - Paul Bailey, Andrea Bassan and Troy Coldwell and NS shooters Doug Blades, Ken d'Eon, Aubrey Spinney, Herbie Nickerson and Janaya Nickerson registered for the 1300 target championships. The AP was well represented with our shooters winning numerous awards, earning handicap yardage and shooting personal best scores.
In the Canadian National Provincial 5 Man Team Race, the AP Team of Coldwell, Bassan, Blades, Herbie Nickerson and Ken d’Eon placed 2nd overall finishing 8 targets behind Team Alberta. Well done boys.

2016 Canadian Scores

A group of shooters from the Atlantic Provinces attended the 2016 Canadian Trapshooting Championships held in June at the Hamilton Gun Club in Ontario.

Congratulations to all shooters, to Preliminary Day winners Monty Petipas and John Tucker and special congratulations to Jack Nicolle – the 2016 Canadian Handicap Champion with a CTA record score of 100 / 100. Great shooting Jack!

2014 Canadian Scores

Twenty shooters from the Atlantic Provinces competed in the 2014 Canadian Trap Championships in Montreal QC, with several shooters winning awards and earning yardage during Canada's national trapshooting event.

Highlights for AP Shooters:
-   The 2014 Handicap Champion is Doug blades from Nova Scotia. Doug also won the High All Around title.
-   Troy Coldwell of Newfoundland and Labrador walked away with the Canadian Open Singles and Open Doubles titles after wining a shoot off for both.
-   John (Jack) Nicols of New Brunswick walked away with 2 Handicap Titles earning him 2 yards for his excellent shooting.
